This was a very well located hotel close to the beach and many stores. Definitely worth checking if you plan to surf or do freela cing work at Dojo Bali co-working space around the corner.

Great new hotel with a sleek design. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable, while the look is both beachy and industrial. Rooms are spacious and simple. Lots of space to hang or store clothing. Worth noting that the area is in significant development due to popularity and therefore construction is happening all around, some of which goes through the night as building laws differ in Indonesia.

Great stay at Good Story Surf Motel! Awesome location less than 5 minutes from the Echo Beach! Spotless rooms, cold air conditioning and clean bathroom were all I could ask for! The roof top bar & lounge were great for sun tanning! Only downside is the "driveway" to get to the hotel. Very dirty, a lot of construction and not welcoming to guests walking to and from the street- especially on the first impression. (but this probably isn't the hotels fault, I would be complaining if I were the owner though!)

When I arrived I was very disappointed to find that there was no bar fridge provided nor were there simple tea/coffee facilities. Instead there was a kettle on its own heavily lined with lime scale. The main disappointment was no bar fridge and so my medication turned off. It was my first visit to Bali and a very disappointing one. The most basic requirements of any accommodation, even low budget, they failed to provide. Lastly the poor communication skills by the staff. Wont be returning.

Clean Hotel with Friendly Staff

Our stay at the Surf Motel was good. There is a lot of construction in the area, so there was a lot of noise, but otherwise the room and hotel were accurately represented on their website, and the staff were friendly and helpful! Definitely a good choice and in close proximity to the beach and great restaurants!

New hotel near Eco Beach with loud building work

The surf motel is in a great area a short walk from eco beach. The hotel is also evidently recently built, which means the rooms are nice and new, and the price is low for the area. Most of the staff, particularly the bar staff, were lovely and the rooftop pool was a nice bonus. This hotel is however in the middle of a building site with hotels going up on either side; directly facing all the rooms from what I could see. The rooms are also very basic, and the noise level from the hallway is very loud, with no insolation whatsoever. The daily room clean was not great, and the shower impractically filled the entire bathroom with water. I would say that this is a bare bones hotel with a good location. If you want a low price and don't mind loud noise from other guests and building work I would say go for it.

Pretty nice new place near Echo Beach

The hotel is reasonably nice. It’s nothing flash, but does have a nice rooftop pool and bar, and lounge on the ground floor. It was busy when we booked, so some of our favourite places where gone. This was a decent choice for the price. The bed was par, no fridge, tv or tea/coffee facilities in the room.

Best place to stay in Canggu

I stayed only 2 nights in Surf Motel but I highly recommend this place for anyone, solo traveler, backpacker, couple... The staffs are really nice and they always make sure that your stay is comfortable. Also the room is clean and nice and I liked all the details, mellow beach atmosphere. Great place to stay in Canggu!
