Not great for GF or kids & lots of homelessness

The breakfast options are very limited for a family & even more limited if you need gluten free. The hotel itself is nice but isn’t in the best part of town and there are homeless people surrounding the property which doesn’t make it feel too safe Pro’s short Uber to Universal & has a pool

Unexplained additional charges

We were charged for the ‘free breakfast’. The hotel also decided to pre-charge us prior to check out for the breakfast they thought we might order?!? Never had that happen before. I had pre-paid the room and on top of the $100 deposit, my card was charged $190, $53 (supposed free breakfast) and then $56. My card should only have been charged $56.

Not my favorite Kimpton.

Expected to get to clean beds was only able to get a solo queen bed they did offer a rollaway bed however had we gotten roll a bed there would be no room to move around in our room love my little sister but not enough to share with her we made it work though. They left our vehicle in front of the hotel most of the day into the late night (midnightish) when we came back from dinner and drinks we saw our car out front I had it cleaned/ washed the day before I had bird poop thanks to it not being valet properly. Didn’t realize until after we pulled off and went to open the sunroof. Other than that the hotel was amazing they had a pop-up restaurant on the roof deck your the pool and the steak skewers were fabulous. The hotel bathroom was a bit small but it is LA - great view of the Hollywood sign

Beautiful hotel but a bit out of the way for the sites we wanted to see (Santa Monica, Melrose shopping etc).

Great location, great staff, great food

Really convenient location. We centered our stay around a show at Pantages theater, which was a block away. But we ended up walking to the Hollywood walk/stars/Chinese theater area, a short Uber to Thai town, and a long-ish walk to Runyon Canyon Park/Trail. Food on site was exceptional, both the brunch place and the evening Japanese pop up. Even as vegetarians, plenty of options. Gym was fine, though a couple more options for machines or floor work would be great. Also, there were no wipes which was kind of gross. Rooms were clean and functional. I don’t get this trend of no coffee makers in the room. We had to wait till 7 to get coffee from the cafe. But that was a minor inconvenience. Worst part was by far the parking. Valet service was awful, and we actually couldn’t retrieve our car on one day, when we hoped to drive around. When we were exiting, literally 5 people in line behind us got their car out before we got ours. We did request and a receive a refund for parking. If we are paying 50 bucks a night for parking, we should get some semblance of decent service.

Great staff

Kimpton Staff was fabulous as usual . A request to shift room that was near the AC unit hum, was honored the next day with ease . So appreciated to the great service and team !!!!

Hip, clean, please add coffee option before 7 AM

Really nice overall. Clean, great lounge/bar space, nice equipment in fitness center, great food for purchase. Wish they offered coffee before 7 AM (none in the rooms) and if you’re a light sleeper I’d recommend a room on the non-highway side. Also valet is only parking option at $53/night so be sure to include that in your budget if you have a car.

The staff was super friendly upon check-in and offered advice of places to check-out in the area. Bar service at the pool was a nice surprise.
