Great service despite train issues

The room was clean and serviceable with adequate heat. Also, the included breakfast was wonderful. The only problem I had was check-in since I was late due to train issues outside my control in Paris. Christophe, the manager was very patient and I was able to check-in despite my late arrival. For any Americans, the check-in time of 8pm is earlier than most American hotels. That is the most important thing to remember about the guesthouse.

Castel Bayeaux was so charming! The staff was friendly and very helpful. It was located right near the cathedral and we could see it from our room! A quick walk got us to most of the sights throughout town and the restaurants. We would definnitely stay here again.

1 the price charged thru Orbitz was 40 percent more than posted in the room. 2. Did not learn until there that parking was 300 meters off site in a public parking lot next to a cow pasture. 3. For most of the day, no one available to assist guests; check in limited to 5 to 8 pm. 4 unaware that there was no elevator before check in. 5. No closet or place to hang clothes except over the coffee maker. 6 TV hard to operate. 6. Bells of nearby cathedral constantly ringing —. Impossible to take a nap. 7. No lighting at back entrance, where we had to come in.

Home away from home in Bayeux

Stayed two nights in this elegant property on the edge of Bayeux city center. This is a nicely maintained B&B with kind hosts who work hard to make guests feel welcome. It was very quiet during my stay, and my accommodations felt as private as in a hotel. The Bayeux tapestry museum is around the corner; the magnificent cathedral and a selection of restaurants as well as a grocery are a couple blocks further. Easy walk from the train station if you are coming that way. Very nice stay - merci beaucoup!

This lovely old property is in a great location for walking in to Bayeux and also for traveling further afield. The property was advertised with free parking,however we was asked for 5€\night and there were only 3 small spaces our car is on the large side so we choose to park in the public car park on the bypass which was free and only 300m away which suited us. The other thing to be aware of is that if like us you get a room on the top floor (3rd),due to the age of the property there is no lift and lots of stairs. Each morning we were provide with a delightful continental breakfast. We would definitely recommend this property and stay here again.

The owners were very nice and friendly. The guesthouse is nice and big; they kept some of their original fixtures and such. The town of Bayeux is a true must see! It is an old medieval town. We would like to go back and take some more time in the town. We highly recommend Castel Bayeux Guesthouse and Bayeux itself!
