Overpriced Hotel for what you get

The experience we had in this hotel is just like a overpriced and glorified holiday inn. Don’t get sold by the pictures. They are extremely short staffed for everything.. so dont expect any help with luggage or any other extra request. Check in is quite late (4pm), specially when you have to check out at 11am. There is no room service, and no lunch service either. Breakfast was ok, always the same options. Dinner was very good, this is the only great thing I can say. They have a fire pit outside, but its never on, again, no staff to switch it on and keep it going. Even the outside area where you can smoke is unpleasant and no cleaning and no attention to the area. The hotel reception area is quite dirty, from people eating and drinking, the cleaning is slow. The toilets of the reception are not cleaned regularly. The room itself were ok, we did have moments of cold. The heating does switch off for a bit, and the toilets are cold. Floor heating is only in a very small area. It is about 600/700m walk to the Santa Village, so be prepared to walk in the cold. Feels longer when its -23 Celsius. When I checked out and was asked about our experience I said I was not impressed for what we paid. Got the reply “okay”. Seems that tourism is not their main priority. Overall I was expecting much more for what we paid.

I loved the accommodations and how it was a short walk to Santa’s Village. Definitely felt like we were staying in a winter wonderland! The complimentary breakfast and dinner entrees were fantastic. The aurora alert in the rooms worked like a charm as well! It only went off once while we were there, but we could see the auroras when stood outside. Only thing I wished that was available that we didn’t have was a sauna. Also, we utilized the laundry service — which was super helpful because we were traveling light, but it was rather pricey. Overall — the staff was super helpful and friendly & I would 100 percent recommend staying!

When one pays close to 800$ a night for a room, you expect a soap bar ( asked for it, never got ) and a few minimum amenities.

Family Vacation to the Igloos

Our stay at the Santa’s Igloo was enjoyable. We stayed 3 nights in a Premium Glass Igloo and it well furnished and cozy. We were traveling with a small child so another bed was brought in, know this makes the igloo a little crammed. The igloo was outfitted with a tablet to communicate with the reception & alert you of the northern lights. The breakfast that is served was full of variety and delicious. The property is close enough to walk to Santa’s village or taxi to other locations in the area (Santa Park, downtown Rovaniemi, the airport).

Needs a little more staff

Nice quaint little property , but I think a little short staffed at the moment , they have a smart manager who is getting things into shape , I expect a good turnaround shortly … the room kinda looks better in pictures than what it is and when I am paying close to 400 euros per night , I expect atleast a bell boy , it is no joke to lug your suitcase to the room in the night … the breakfast is decent but I found it funny that I had to make my own pan cakes 😂… though a few guests did find the process quaint .., had a lovely surprise arranged by the manager for my wife’s 40th … so kudos to him … I am sure the property in a few months should be up and running to what they envisage for it

It was really good overall. The personnel was very welcoming.They give a Little gift to my son and a Little bag with shampoo and kindar of stuff to us. Breakfast was good. The room was comfortable and instagrammable. It is close to the Santa Claus village. There were only two concerns for me. First, the room was cool at night. Our 4-year-old son was with us so it was something important for us. They provided a heater upon our request, which was nice, it was still cool. Second, for the complimentary shuttle service you have to make a reservation 7days in advance. Although I had known about that I forgot and informed then 5 days before our trip. It is like a trap. I had to pay one way. Luckily for our return trip it was complimentary since there were 7 days before our departure. It should be free or not. It should not be the customers’ responsibility to arrange it. I can suggest a few more things. Some complimentary hot drinks at the reception would be great. The weather is cold and I know most hotels in the area offer this. Other than this there should be a tour desk at the hotel. They simply direct you to the village for more information.

Nice experience igloos but food need improvement

Overall nice experience, especially if it’s your first time worth a try to stay in the igloos. The igloos are small considering the price you pay and beds are not comfortable. Breakfast needs improvement, the food not impressive except for the freshly baked bread...adding an option of cooking eggs your way would be good. Close to santa’s village which is good. At night they light a fire place near reception which is lovely. They have aurora alarm option to wake u up if northern lights are showing which is cool! So it’s worth a try if it’s your first visit!
